my daughter asked me for a pony for christmas, and do you know what she said when she saw it?

“where is its cutie mark? does it even have one? this pony looks very ugly.”

can you BELIEVE that? when I heard her say that, I felt absolutely shocked and appalled. these “Little” Ponies are a BIG deal! concerned parents, please send Hasbro an e-mail telling them to STOP polluting our children’s minds with this offensively false idea of what a real, normal horse is. this HAS to stop!

Does op think this is a bigger problem than the dolls that are marketed to young children today? Those if anything are polluting our childs minds.

As the one above said, dear op, have you ever thought about these “bratz”-dolls and barbie-dolls?  
Surely the ponies are more harmless than a doll that barely looks human. 

I’m inclined to think this is a joke.

But honestly, if the op really has a problem with the stylization of the horse form (one of nature’s most beautiful forms, imo) by MLP, there are actual accurate horse toys out there. Breyer comes to mind, as well as Schleich, though warning on Schleich— being European they have no qualms on being completely accurate about all their animal models— my Pinto horse has very anatomically correct genitals. Personally as a parent I would have no problem with that, but it the op (if serious) seems like the type who would. 

I have feelings about the dolls (mostly it’s more about the way parents teach a child to view themselves and view the dolls— my mom did a lot of sewing and had a sewing mannequin and honestly I never viewed my barbies’ bodies as anything other than those- and my dolls always went out and had adventures and were successful business women and shit, barbie didn’t poison my mind, nor did Bratz poison my little sister’s. :P) but I think those are more likely to cause discussion, so I tigress. *eats roomie*

I am convinced OP is trolling and tumblr is just being dumb again. Still, the idea of someone freaking out over realistic genitals on a toy horse is hilarious. Would they freak as much about the actual pony having genitals, I wonder? Would they make it wear pants?

How realistic are we talking here, anyway? I had toy horses when I was a kid, and while the brand I had most of had a definite set of cock-and-balls, there was no detail to speak of.

More realistic than Americans are sometimes comfortable with. Cock-and-balls, there’s the outline of a foreskin and a little dent for the urethra on the glans. It’s not something you wouldn’t see on a real horse by any means, but ours is a culture that occasionally freaks out because Bugs Bunny doesn’t wear pants.

I can totally see an American parent having a conniption over it, is the sad thing. This is also the culture that feels breast feeding in public is indecent and that little baby girls should wear shirts/bikini tops at all times (what is there to hide?!). We are -very- puritanical.
